Starting your own online business sounds both promising and challenging because it may have its advantages and disadvantages as well.

Looking from one point of view, you would be able to be your own boss and work whenever and from wherever you would like. But from the other point of view, a business requires a lot of insight, dedicated work, investments, and dealing with the competition.

As many people have already started or are planning to start their own online business in 2021 because of the Covid-19 pandemic shutting most of the physical stores down, today we want to share a list of ideas for a successful online business in 2021.

#1: Start Your Own T-Shirt Line

Have you always been interested in fashion and clothing design? Well, in that case, the year 2021 could be the perfect chance to start your t-shirt line and open an online store.

T-shirts are a great business idea because you can switch up the designs according to the change in trends. Also, choosing to use a print on demand service will guarantee all over t-shirt printing with no minimum, which means you will be able to fulfill the big orders.

#2: Become a Freelance Writer

Being a writer can be a versatile business, especially if you choose to go the freelancer path. This way, you are the one who decides when and how much you want to work.

To discover your first clients, you can search for freelance jobs on themed Facebook groups for freelancers and use such websites as Fiverr. And who knows, if a customer likes your work, the company might become more than just a one-time project.

#3: Create a Podcast

Podcasts are becoming a prevalent form of entertainment or a substitute for music when you are driving to work or cleaning up the house. The biggest difference is that it gives people a chance to learn something new and valuable, of course, depending on the content you choose to listen to.

If you want to start a podcast, you will have to choose a theme for it and stick to it. Then you should pick between audio and video formats. Video formats usually have a larger audience because people can watch your podcast on YouTube. To earn money, you can start collaborations with brands or review promoted content.

#4: Become a YouTuber

As video content is currently the most popular media form, becoming a YouTuber can bring in a lot of money because the audience's reach might grow huge.

To start with, you will have to pick your main topics and the type of content you want to create. For example, is it going to be a vlog or a review platform for computer games?

Then, to start earning money, be consistent with your content, advertise on social media so that you build a larger target audience, and then start profiting from YouTube views, AdSense, and paid sponsorships.

#5: Monetize a Blog

You may be surprised, but there are still many popular blogs and ways to make money out of them. If you like writing and you know you are good at it, but a freelance writer's career is just not for you, then you can start writing about your lifestyle, hobbies, or any other interests you have.

To monetize your blog, you can add banners to the website, publish guest posts, use AdSense, and work with brands for paid sponsorship. Also, you can release your own merchandise by using print on demand services. T-shirts, mugs, hoodies, and even face masks could be profitable products.

#6: Become an App Developer

People used to spend a considerable amount of time on their phones, and now, as we are experiencing a worldwide pandemic, everyone is spending even more time on their smartphones.

More to it, people feel a bigger need to use apps for productivity, fitness, and whatnot since they are stuck at home. Therefore, if the technology is your thing, and you know how to develop apps, you could earn some great money from multiple promising projects.

#7: Start Teaching Online

If you have knowledge in a specific field like mathematics, languages, or sports activities like pilates, teaching online can be a great way to earn some extra money, advertise yourself as a professional, or even build an online course to sell repeatedly.

Depending on what you are planning to teach, you can organize online classes using such video call tools as Zoom or film an entire course upfront, which will be a big investment time-wise but will pay off in the long-term.
