How to Lock Entire WordPress Website for the Public Without Plugins

You can lock your entire WordPress website and make it only visible to logged-in users without using a plugin by adding a simple code.

Two of our favorite plugins are WP All Import and Rank Math.

They're widely used on WordPress websites. Both make a lot of tasks, much easier to deal with.

However, there's no real support between the two, in terms of add-on or integration out of the box.

So to import data into a WordPress site using WP All Import and apply values for Rank Math metadata, we have to assign them manually.

The good news is, it's easy and we will explain it step by step in this tutorial.

A Quick Intro

Rank Math is an SEO plugin, gaining popularity in the recent years.

It's 100% free and probably the best alternative to Yoast, or any other SEO plugin, in our opinion.

WP All Import is a time-saver when it comes to importing data. It supports WooCommerce, ACF Pro, and many other cool features.

The plugin isn't free, but it's worth it once you calculate how much time it saves you.

Preparing the CSV File

The first step is to prepare your CSV file, which is used to import the data. You need to assign three main titles;

  • Rank Math Title (which is the SEO Title)
  • Rank Math Description (which is the post meta description)
  • Rank Math Keyword (this is the focus keyword, which RM uses as a reference)

Importing into WP All Import

From the site dashboard, head to All Import > Create a new import, edit the existing one, and scroll down to Custom Fields.

Each Custom Field has a Name and Value.

Under Name, type the Rank Math meta keys, coresponding to the Name from the CSV file.

The values (Rank Math keys) for the above given titles are

  • rank_math_title
  • rank_math_description
  • rank_math_focus_keyword

Refer to the image below;

Finish the rest of the fields you normally want to import, i.e., featured image, categories, other custom fields, etc., and confirm to import.

The Complete List of Rank Math Meta Keys

As I couldn't find the complete list (at the time of searching), I had to reach out to the developers & support at RM to get the list.

Here's the complete list of Rank Math available meta keys, that you can use when importing via WP All Import:

  • rank_math_title
  • rank_math_description
  • rank_math_focus_keyword
  • rank_math_canonical_url
  • rank_math_robots
  • rank_math_rich_snippet
  • rank_math_seo_score
  • rm_rank_math_404_logs
  • rm_rank_math_internal_links
  • rm_rank_math_internal_meta
  • rm_rank_math_redirections
  • rm_rank_math_redirections_cache
  • rm_rank_math_schema
  • rm_rank_math_schema_cache
  • rm_rank_math_sc_analytics

Use them the same way as importing the titles and description explained above, change the name (your CSV file field), and connect it with the corresponding key to link with Rank Math.
